Nadia Fanchini is the new absolute Italian downhill champion, as she dominates the race held at the San Pellegrino Pass.

Nikky, as he is affectionately known, won his fourth Italian title in the specialty after those very distant ones of 2004, 2006 and 2008, and the twelfth of all counting all the specialties. The 32-year-old originally from Montecampione preceded well by 1 “05 Nicol Delago and 1″ 14 Sofia Goggia who yesterday had been the fastest on trial but who cannot dispel the taboo of the Absolutes. Fourth to three hundredths from the podium Elena Curtoni, fifth Nadia Delago, sixth Anna Hofer, seventh Francesca Marsaglia, eighth Marta Bassino, none ex-aequo Sofia Pizzato and Monica Zanoner. Tomorrow women’s super-G and combined titles will be awarded.
